Question: Does anybody have any advice on how to make those cute-as-a-button buttons....like the ones made for fanlistings, etc.?

I just start with a new item and make it 50x50 pixels or whatever size you want. then just put your pics on just like you would a collage. you can use PS, PSP, or i started with Picture It when i first tried graphics. By Shannon.

Aside from a small image (usually sharpened), you might want to work with screen/pixel fonts with the anti-aliasing off for that matter. By Vered.

Since the buttons are so small, i think it's important to try and make them simple; the less busy it is, the better. the stronger and sharper the image is, the cleaner it looks. so if you want mulder in there don't squish it down so you see all of him (unless that's the effect you want...) maybe to half a face or an eye or something.. it depends how large your button is! Pixel/bitmap fonts are the best and make the text stand out.. which is key in a button. If you do want a border, i find a .5 pixel or 1pixel border will do the trick! By Kim.
